Speech L1

Hello everyone my name is Tana, and today I am going to be teaching you the knowledge for you to play the 4 most common chords on the Ukulele. These chords are extremely easy to learn and they are used in many well known songs. I will be providing a step by step tutorial for, so you are able to go away today and pick up a ukulele and play these chords.

The first chord is a C major chord. Place your ring finger on the 3rd fret of the A string. Now if you strum you will be playing a C. Next is the chord of G major. This is also very simple to play, but it requires you to use 3 fingers instead of one. First you place your middle finger on the 2nd fret of the A string, then your ring finger on the 3rd fret of the E string, and finally you put your index finger on the 2nd fret on the C string. If you stuff it up, just start again and once you get it you are then playing a G. Now we have done that we can now move on to the A minor chord. Am is also a very simple chord to play. All you have to do is place your middle finger on the 2nd fret of the G string, and you have the chord of Am. Now the last chord I will be showing you is F major. First you make Am and then ad index finger to the 1st fret on the E string. Now that you know the basics I will now teach you a strumming pattern. It just goes “down down up up down up”. It is in a 4/4 time signature meaning that you count “1  2 3 4”. If you practice these chords and this strumming pattern you can virtually play any song that you know with a 4 chord base chord progression. I will now demonstrate what this should sound like, with the strumming pattern.
